Judicial Collections of Court Ordered Fines & Fees, Library Fines

Burnet County established the Collections and Compliance Division November 1, 2004 with the assistance of the Office of Court Administration.  The collection and compliance department is a division of the Burnet County Treasurer's Office.  The purpose of this department is to aid the courts in collecting past due fines and court costs and assist defendants in successfully complying with their court orders.  Currently the District Court, County Court, Library System, and County Attorney’s Hot Check Division are utilizing the services of the Collections & Compliance Division.

Burnet County Collections & Compliance Division provides the courts in Burnet County with the means of financial assessment and verification so that an individual may request a payment plan based on their finances in order to pay for fines due in reference to enforcement of a court order.  This would include, but not be limited to misdemeanor fines and felony fines.

Burnet County Collections & Compliance Division assists the Burnet County Library System in the collection of past due fines & the return of overdue materials.  We aid the County Attorney’s Hot Check Division in locating people who have hot checks that have been turned over to the County for collection.  We also handle the accounts receivables for inmate medical expenses paid by the County and due to be reimbursed by inmates.
