The role of the Burnet County Jail, through the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, is to receive and house all lawfully committed offenders within the jurisdiction of Burnet County, as mandated by the criminal and civil laws of the State of Texas, until they are released from confinement. The Burnet County Jail operated by LaSalle Southwest Corrections is an 89,000 sq. ft. facility located on a 75 acre tract in Burnet County. The jail houses 587 offenders of which 456 beds are leased to US Marshals. Burnet County Jail was certified by the American Correctional Association. It is one of only a handful of county jails in the nation to achieve this designation. The facility is also certified by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, less than 72 hour I.C.E. hold facility as well as US Marshals hold. The Burnet County Jail has 150 employees.
