Joe Don Dockery, Precinct 4 Commissioner

 

JOE DON DOCKERY

Joe Don Dockery has been serving as Burnet County Commissioner, Precinct 4, since January 2007. Joe Don, 60, is a life-long resident of Marble Falls and Burnet County who graduated from Texas A&M University in 1985 with a B.S. in Building Construction.

As Commissioner, Joe Don serves on the Capital Area Planning Council of Governments (CAPCOG) Executive Committee as well as several sub-committees. He is the liaison to the Homeland Security Task Force, Capital Area Emergency Communications District, Strategic Advisory Committee, and the Capital Area Regional Transportation Planning Committee.

He has provided both oral and written testimony to the Texas Legislature on various County related topics and is a current member of the Texas Association of Counties Core Legislative Group.

Joe Don is certified in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 & 800. As well as MGT 383 Emergency Operations Plans for Rural Jurisdictions. In May of 2023 he received Certification for Building a Catastrophe Preparation and Response Plan for Your County through the Texas Association of Counties.
