Expunctions

The District Clerk’s Office cannot provide legal advice nor provide forms for filing an expunction. For assistance with the process please contact an attorney or consult www.texaslawhelp.org.  

In accordance with Texas Code of Criminal Procedure 55A.253(c), the following is a list of local agencies normally involved in the expunction process. This list is NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE. Any outside agency that has available or published information concerning the charge or arrest should be included in your petition and order. You are NOT required to include every agency on this list. DO NOT include agencies in your petition who do not have records related to your case.

There is a $25 fee (plus the cost of copies) for each agency included in the petition that DOES NOT have an email address to cover the expense of certified mail to transmit application with notice and final order. The petition should include both the physical (or mailing) address, as well as the e-mail address for each agency.

Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 55A.253(b) prohibits a petition from listing any state or local agency more than once or including multiple contacts or addresses for different divisions with respect to the same state or local agency.
