To request Driving Safety Course you must certify that:
- You do not have a class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL.)
- You have a valid Texas driver's license, permit, or active duty military I.D. and will provide a copy to the court.
- That the citation issued was NOT for passing a school bus, failing to stop and render aid following an accident, striking an unattended vehicle, fixture, or highway landscape, a traffic offense committed in a construction/maintenance zone while workers were present, speeding 95 mph or more or speeding 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit
- And that you are NOT taking a defensive driving course for a different violation, nor have you taken a driver safety course within the past 12 months.
Your request for Driving Safety Course must include the following:
- Notarized PLEA/REPLY FORM (notary seal with signature)
- Photo copy of Texas drivers license. ***CDL operators are not eligible for Deferred Disposition or a Driver's Safety Course.
- For all active duty military with an out of state drivers license: A copy of your military ID AND a copy of your out of state drivers license are required.
- Proof of current financial responsibility (liability insurance effective on date of request)
